Set a daily AI allowance

Every model call for a child counts towards their daily allowance: the chat itself, the safety checks, reading photos and updating the buddy’s memory. When it’s used up, the buddy rests until tomorrow and no model is called.

The household default is 400,000 tokens a day per child. To change one child’s allowance:

openbuddies children allowance <child> 300000

Set it back to the household default with openbuddies children allowance <child> default.

On your parent page under Children, you can pick Light (150k), Normal (400k), Plenty (1M) or a number of your own. The smallest allowance is 10,000 tokens.
