Turn on Picture Studio

Picture Studio needs an image model from OpenAI or Google. Run:

openbuddies images setup

It asks which provider to use and for a key, and saves the key in your household’s .env file.

Each child can make 6 pictures a day by default. To change it, edit pictures.daily in the child’s rules.yaml (see the rules reference). Check what’s set up any time with openbuddies images.

Children ask for a picture in the chat (“I want a picture of a hotdog”) and change it the same way (“now add a dog”). The buddy kindly says no to real people, anything violent or rude, and brands. A famous character becomes an original one.
